Today in Baseball History

It’s a pretty quiet day in baseball history.Tommie Aaron

Tommie Aaron was born on this date, in 1939. It couldn’t have been easy for him, being Hank’s younger brother and playing ball. I have to give him a tip of the cap for sticking it out. Hope he had a lot of fun out there. Tommie was the International League MVP in 1967, so he could play some ball. He passed away in 1984, from leukemia.

Happy Birthday, Tommie. Good game.

In the future, today will likely be recorded as the day Alex Rodriguez received the longest suspension in MLB history. That’s another sad story, a great player with so many gifts, making bad choices that will forever taint his reputation. Like so many of the great players of the PED era.

Such a shame.
