Happy Birthday today to Abraham Lincoln Wolstenholme, born on March 4 1861 in Philadelphia, to some parents who were pretty happy about Lincoln being President, I guess.
Abe played three games with the Philadelphia Quakers in 1883, (their first season,) two games as a catcher and one in the outfield. He made three errors in eleven chances as a catcher, which maybe explains his move to the outfield, where he had no chances. He got one hit, a double, in eleven plate appearances. No walks, no strikeouts, no rbi.
Fifty-five years later, on March 4, 1916, Abe passed away, also in Philadelphia.
Good game, Abe.
